Don Rice has truly captured the spirit of the times. His descriptions of the surroundings (including the cars!) and the emotions are right on target. The characters truly come to life - the reader feels as if he is a part of their lives. The story flows smoothly and is a pleasure to read.

we got this book from a "book of the month club" and I have to say it is one of the house favorites. It is a book that everyone likes to read, it is my husband's first choice in bedtime books for the kids. It flows so nicely "goodnight came here and goodnight went there all over town". Please stock up on this book again!!!

No wonder he's a star in Britain. Fabulous, imaginative recipes covering everything from easy cook basics to recipes you definitely need to practice! Examples - red berries with hibiscus and basil syrup; slow roasted peaches with orange caramel sauce; chocolate and thyme ice cream; apricot and cinnamon mousse; fruit tempura and many more. Not a book for beginners (he is a Michelin 3 Star chef) but very, very good.

The authors of "Grains for Better Health" have produced a comprehensive easy to read book which covers all the bases on the nutritional benefits of whole grains.

This book's selling point for me is its emphasis on whole foods. It is great for anyone who is trying to de-emphasize meat in their diets and build up the grains, fruits and vegetables. The recipes are fairly easy to follow--a beginner might be left guessing how big a "medium" zucchini really is, but technique is explained well. The ingredient list is within reach of most supermarkets. The recipes themselves are original and come out looking like the pictures. Many are naturally low-fat and those that are not use the healthiest fats when called for. Butter is scarcely used and I don't think cream is mentioned anywhere. I enjoy reading and cooking from this. My only criticism is negligible: for far-sighted people, even those assisted with monovision contacts or bifocals, the type in which ingredient quantities are set, particularly the fractions, is difficult to read.

I am a student at a local business school. I began using Gregg College Keyboarding & Document Processing, Lessons 1-60, in mid February, 2001. It has really changed the way that I type, and has given me a chance to learn the proper way to process documents. Initially, I thought the book to be kind of boring, since I already had a basic knowledge of the keyboard. However, as time progressed and I got further into the book, I learned how wrong I was. I always though document processing to be self-expanantory, but learning the correct manner of formatting letters, reports, memos, tables, cover pages, resumes, etc., and the improvement of my spelling, grammar, and punctuation have changed my outlook on finding future employment. I am very grateful to the writer's of this book for putting together such a wonderful program. Thank you!

The audio cassette was excellent. I am a native of Georgetown, sothis is nothing new to me, however, I am trying to introduce my two small children to the sound of Gullah and they love it. I asked my daughter did she understand what was being said and she stated, "yes Mom, it's just english spoken with a dialect." I, as well as my family really enjoyed this. Please give us more. I received this book from a dear friend when my brother was dying of cancer. It's inspirational verses helped me through troubled times during a 2 year period. This book can bring comfort to a troubled heart. I highly recommend it for anyone going through a traumatic life experience.
